KAZ Minerals is a high growth copper company focused on large scale open pit mining in Kazakhstan. One stage in the production process that creates highly acidic gas mist. This was causing significant HSE challenges for the workforce, as well as corrosion of factory assets and environmental discharges above the regulatory standards.
APCINFRA was awarded the contract after an international competitive bidding process. APCINFRA designed a system that involved the collection and extraction of this sub-micronic acid mist, using custom designed hoods, engineering design and supply of large customized scrubber vessels, as well as the design and supply of specialised ducting, dampers and valving. Our engineering team worked through the complex CFD analysis for the system and designed customised skid-mounted solutions to allow ease and flexibility of installation.
